Specialty Product Awards

To enter these awards you must have exhibited or be contracted to exhibit at Reed Gift Fairs, Life Instyle or The Retail Quarter 2017.

1 winner will be selected across both Reed Gift Fairs, Life Instyle and The Retail Quarter exhibitors.

Product that is both designed and manufactured in Australia. The product will display quality workmanship and recognise the outstanding performance of the Australian Made industry in Gifts and Homewares.

Product manufactured through sustainable processes. The eco initiative encourages environmentally friendly and green products designed for eco-responsible consumers.

Products across all categories that demonstrate ethical and fair trade initiatives in material sourcing and production processes.

Products that are made by hand and not by machine and represent the growth in popularity of the handmade market.

Product that is original to the market, has been introduced within the past 12 months and can represent any product category.

Product Category Awards

1 winner will be selected for each show (Reed Gift Fairs and Life Instyle) for the Product Category Awards

Product designed to pamper the body, complement and enhance health & wellbeing. From lotions to soaps, aromatherapy to candles, these products are used to the betterment of every individual.

From reading, picture, fiction, adult colouring to children’s books plus cards and wraps for any occasion to diaries and calendars, notebooks, office supplies and party goods, this category celebrates the wonderful world of books & stationery.

Products that celebrates the act of giving. A vast category that encompasses giftware to souvenirs for all ages.

From homewares to furnishings and furniture, flowers to home decor, these products are used to enhance the home environment, both indoor and outdoor pieces that are practical or luxurious.

Fashion products that reflect the latest trends in accessories and apparel, from scarves to bags, belts to hats, that are suitable for men, women and children.

From bracelets to necklaces to rings, this category encompasses all materials, styles and makes of jewellery.

Products for children for all ages, from gifts to clothing, accessories to plush toys to figurines. These products promote both the essential and fun side of growth and development.

Everyday, social and special occasion products for the kitchen and dining arena. From tableware to glassware, cutlery to table decorations, utensils to cooking and food preparation materials.

Products that specialise in the mechanical, fun and quirky gadgets and novelties. From toys to games, the element of fun in the product is a must!

This award does not accept submissions. Instead all finalists within the product category awards will automatically be submitted. The product category submission with the overall highest points by the judges across all categories will be crowned the Product of the Year.

Talent Awards

BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR (open to all personnel in the retail industry: agents, store managers, wholesalers, sales managers, key buyer, business owner)

The winner of this award is for the employee/agent/contractor who displays outstanding individual commitment to the retail industry, showing initiative, excellence in customer service, product knowledge and a source of inspiration for their peers.

BEST NEW TALENT (for exhibitors only)
Entrants for this award will be nominated by the Judging Panel. Exhibitors who are nominated showcase beautifully crafted products that stand out in the crowd, contributes to the event, displayed growth and was new to the events in 2017.

This person has proved themselves as a true leader and made an exceptional contribution to the industry and recognised for their commitments.

Retail Awards

To enter these awards you must operate a retail business in Australia or New Zealand in 2017.

Retailer of the Year* (1-5 employees)
The winner of this category is a business with 1 -5 employees that has achieved outstanding business during 2017,  through new initiatives and innovation.

Retailer of the Year* (6+ Employees)
The winner of this category is a business with 6+ employees that has achieved outstanding business during 2017, through new initiatives and innovation.

Best Retailer Marketing Initiative
The winner of this category is a business that has implemented a marketing initiative that has achieved an outstanding performance for their business across individual or multiple market channels during 2017.

Best Retail Display
The winner of this award is a store that has created a unique visual merchandising display that provided growth for the business in 2017 via sales, social & media exposure, foot traffic and more.

Best Online Retailer
The winner of this category is open to pure-players or multichannel retailers with an e-commerce presence that has achieved outstanding business performance and taken their business to new levels.

*1 of the winners from Retailer of the Year will be selected by Australian Gift Guide (AGG) to represent Australia at the Global Innovation Awards, honouring the housewares retail excellence (GIA) in Chicago in 2018.
